Nils Grotewohlt

Co-founder and board member of the Psychedelic Society Hamburg e.V.

Nils is a co-founder and board member of the Psychedelic Society Hamburg, Germany’s first non-profit psychedelic association. The aims of the association include researching and destigmatizing psychedelics and changing the unacceptable drug policy so that they can be used safely for recreational purposes and the enormous healing potential of psychedelics is once again available to mankind!

Nils grew up in the south of Hamburg and has always tried to improve the world in some way (e.g. community service, volunteering in a township in South Africa, supporting refugee aid, working for a German ocean foundation), but nothing really resonated. It was only when he realized the therapeutic benefits of psychedelics for himself that he found his mission.

Professionally, he grew up in a rather different world: training at Deutsche Bank, banking & finance studies in Germany, South Africa and China, career in corporate & investment banking at UniCredit Bank and subsequently various positions in different start-ups. This year, he stepped down from a small start-up as a member of the management board in order to have more time for society.

His motto: Free decisions for free and enlightened people – because if we heal ourselves, we heal the world.
