The Association against Alcohol and Drugs in Road Traffic was founded in 1950. According to the statutes of the non-profit association, its tasks include educating people about the dangers of alcohol and drugs and promoting research in this field. The focus of its educational and awareness-raising work is carried out by 21 regional sections. Our renowned scientific publication BLUTALKOHOL is internationally recognized. Every year, we award the Senator Lothar Danner Gold Medal to public figures for their commitment to greater safety on our roads. BADS finances its work mainly from the fines received from public prosecutors and courts, from donations and membership fees.
